The Quick Way To Effectively Increase Google Ranking With A Google Sitemap

It seems like everyone is trying to find the best way improve their traffic on the internet and that tends to mean increasing your rank on Google. When it comes to Alaska Web Design, there is nothing closer to the truth. There are a few options available to do just that. I am going to reveal one of them with you today. It is the Google sitemap. Basically a Google sitemap is an XML file that serves as a data provider to Google’s GoogleBots. You might be thinking this is too much for you to do all by your lonesome. Don’t worry about it. I am going to cover the basics for you right now, in small bite size portions, and you can have your sitemap up within the hour! It is that simple!

What is Google Sitemap? Technically a Google Sitemap is an XML file that holds information about all of the Web pages on your site.

What information does a Google Sitemap contain about my Web pages? In a Google sitemap you can include parameters. Some examples of these parameters are the URL of your Web page, when you last modified its content, the Web pages update frequency, and also that specific Web pages priority in the site.

What do I do with it? All you need to do is create this file, pass it off to Google, and Google will finish the rest.

What does Google do with it? No one really can find out how Google uses this information. When you submit the file, Google informs you that it gives no guarantee on traffic/rank increase. However there have been many people who have reported substantial increases in their Google ranking.

How do I produce a Google Sitemap? Just complete these following steps:

The first thing you need to do is create your XML file. Don’t worry though; there are a lot of utilities that do this for you AND they are for free online. One of the ones I like is at www.sitemapbuilder.net.
The next thing you need to do is get the XML file you just created submitted to Google. All you have to do is visit www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/login and login with your Google account. Once you’ve logged in you can add as many Sitemaps as you like.
The last step . Remember that each time you make a change to your website you will need to follow these steps again.
There you go. I hope this was a simple walkthrough on how to create your very own Google sitemap. Hopefully you will be able to increase your Google ranking with this easy technique. For more techniques on improving your Google ranking make sure to find the people who are the best at implementing these kinds of techniques into your Alaska website design projects.

Just one last thing : Google is presenting their new Mobile Sitemap program. If your site is mobile-friendly then I would highly recommend submitting sitemaps for that program as well. Good luck with your Alaska Web page design projects!

We will see you soon!
