A colleague and mentor, Allen received this question from one of
his subscribers, Sarah. (I have included my own notes in brackets)
“I’m just starting out in affiliate marketing. We’ve got some
student loan debts and we don’t have a lot of money to invest in
the business. What’s the best way to proceed?”
Sarah, you’re not alone. I started my affiliate business after
moving to a new city and with my wife not yet back working, so I
can definitely relate. Let me give you 3 options to consider.
1st, you could do non-paid marketing by creating as much content as
you can such as articles, videos and blog posts. The idea here is
to become a “content factory” and create & spread as many little
“lottery tickets” of content as you can all over the internet.
These need to give good value to the reader and have a strong call to
action to do what you want (like click the link to your affiliate
product, etc.)
I did this for about a month, but the results take time to build up
and I found that I didn’t have the patience for it. That’s not to
say that you can’t do it and be very successful.
(I have and continue to use article marketing and apart from
providing valuable links to your sites and blogs, it is a simple,
no-cost way of building your authority on a given subject or
niche).
2nd, you could do paid marketing using a “bootstrap” method where
you risk a small amount of money on PPC and reinvest profits into
the business. My friend Mark Acutt has the best step-by-step guide
on this that I’ve seen.
(I am also following it right now and recommend it highly, and it’s a *VERY LOW COST* info product that will get your business going).
This would be my top recommendation. Find a successful product via
PPC, reinvest your profits into more PPC, and then spend time
creating articles/videos to get free traffic for keywords you know
work.
3rd, you could apply for a government grant to start your business.
There are lots of grants especially for minority, disabled, veteran
and women business owners, and these can be interest-free.
I don’t have personal experience with grants but they seem very
popular. Check on-line and with your own government’s start-up
funding opportunities.
Hope this helps Sarah — have a great day everybody!
I will admit to you that I thought about it when a month would not
go as well as expected. I know what it’s like when disappointment
and frustration sets in.
How often have you asked the same question - “Why did that not
work for me?”
Now, I am not going to give you the same B.S. that we all get. I am
not an internet millionnaire (yet) but I have seen a significant
change in my profits AND it is regular. How?
I have held off telling people about this until I was happy with my results…
A colleague and kind of mentor, Rich, has been helping me improve
my presence online. Through our discussions, he introduced me to
the techniques he uses and is very successful.
There are so many possibilities with this technique, that there’s no
longer a need to even compete with anyone! But even if you have to
compete, Brian will show you how you can blow out any competition
hands down using this technique.
That’s precisely why Brian can sell this guide and give out the exact
same technique that we use to make money, because with thousands
and thousands of possibilities, there’s no need to ever even compete.
Like Brian, I was disappointed with my income from Adsense and
affiliate marketing. Don’t get me wrong, I was and I am making money
but I thought I’d have nothing to lose by testing out this new technique.
I had nothing to lose and I am gaining a lot. Well worth it. Why?
Because I am making more profit in less time AND I am getting my
life back.
Plus, for those who need help, there is free consultation by email or
messenger.
With the current recession, many people are turning to internet marketing in order to survive. Many have in fact predicted that there will be more and more competition online in the coming years. There have certainly been more people coming online during the last five or so years, so it looks like now is the time to move if you want to build an online business.
If you’re first starting out with internet marketing, then it may take you a while before you earn any decent money. Many people go for months (even years) before they get their first affiliate cheque or product sale. However, you need to keep in mind that every successful person has failed at least once - and every time you fail it will bring you closer to success. So don’t be afraid to throw stuff out there and just see what happens.
When you start an internet business, you also need to make the decision of whether you want to promote other people’s products as an affiliate, or become a product publisher yourself. Being an affiliate is easier and there is less risk, but you don’t get quite as much leverage. You will find that many top internet marketers have their own product.
Why You Need To Focus On Customer Targeted Marketing
Listen to the news. Look at the major stock markets. Where has the confidence gone? Has it all been down to good old-fashioned greed?
When was the world economy last in such a state of flux and undergoing massive turbulence? The companies that stand any chance of survival are those that are realizing that their most important and valuable asset is their customer base. Organizations that not only understand this but go through the changes needed to meet the ongoing demands of their customer base will succeed. Those that do not will suffer, at the very least, a loss of market share or worse, total oblivion. Your business survival depends on it!
In customer targeted marketing, the customer becomes the central focus of the organization’s strategy and activities, rather than the product itself (which is the prime concern in traditional marketing). The organization’s paradigm shift in marketing requires a company to build a commitment to quality and to listen critically to the customer to determine the market needs and how the company can meet those needs more effectively.
One of the major characteristics of the approach is to focus on each customer’s interests and interactions with the organization to deliver targeted, personal messages. This would require the company to be constantly gathering information about their customers in an effort to better serve them and, most importantly, to keep them as loyal customers.
Organizations would need to use various techniques and strategies (possibly with the help of information technology and the Internet), such as focus groups, in-depth interviews, customer surveys, attitude testing and so on to obtain information about consumers for more effective marketing of a product or service. With these customers’ data and feedback, the organization will apply the knowledge to develop more customer-centric products and services and/ or to improve existing ones.
In addition, the information will be shared within the organization to encourage employees at all levels to focus on creating maximized customer value and loyalty.
