Internet Marketing Strategies

How To Make Money Online

The Differences of Free Vs Paid Directory Submissions - Important Tips

First a web directory is web site that specializes in finding, categorizing and listing links to other resources on the World Wide Web. Owners of web sites can submit their sites for review and possible inclusion. Those sites are then reviewed for relevancy and site content to determine if the site would have value to the other internet surfers.

By using a Web Directory your site can gain backlinks which are like doorways to your website for traffic to flow. They are also considered votes of quality for search engine rankings which brings additional targeted traffic through search related actions. Web Directory links create unique and topically relevant backlinks to your site.

The thing to note is that all links are not created equal.

The fundamental difference in directories is free vs paid. The differences between the two are like night and day or BMW and skateboard.

Free Directory

What you get with free directories are an extremely crowded directory where your link will get lost in a crowd of low quality links, less traffic from the directory due to less visibility, much longer time between submission and acceptance, very time consuming as you typically need to submit to hundreds of these to get the value of one link from a quality paid directory and your listing will typically get placed with listings for low quality spam filled sites.

Let’s just face facts, most people start a business to generate revenue and a directory is a business. With directories that allow for free submissions the owners look to generate revenue from the site in other ways and those other ways will decrease the quality of the directory.

One way they generate revenue on free directories is by installing adsense on it. Those adsense advertisements compete with the listings on the directory for the visitor traffic and decrease the value of a link in the directory.

The other common way to generate revenue for a free directory is to sell advertising space on it. The idea being to use the lure of a low quality free link on the directory to draw traffic in to see the paid advertisements like site wide sponsored links, site featured links, site wide footer links, site wide partner links and they can call them other things also. Such as our network, friends and the list goes on.

The fact is that search engines devalue web sites that sell placement of site wide links on them and that severely limits the value of a listing on those directories.

Pay for Review Directory

Some of the things which a pay for review directory will bring you and that you should look for are a directory that is maintained by professionals, rich in content with articles and quality resources/listings, unique design with additional features such as deep linking options, quick review times usually 24 to 48 hours and a directory that is focused on providing a destination resource for visitors which generates traffic.

The focus to be a destination resource is easily spotted by features and content. Does the directory provide something in addition to a place to submit links? Is there a blog with content in it? Are there articles posted within the directory category structure? Are there other features that are just there for visitor’s enjoyment such as an art gallery?

In addition there should not be any site wide links for sponsors, there should not be distracting/traffic bleeding adsense.

A link from a quality paid directory has more value than free links. They are seen as a higher quality endorsement of the sites listed there.

It is our hope that this will help you identify a directory that is worth submitting to from one that is not.

I Don’t Have A Website, Can I Earn An Income Without One?

Extra Income ***** Make Money Online

Do you want to make money through the Internet but you don’t have enough experience or capital to start your own online business? You don’t have to worry, for a lot of online marketing options exist for you to start with. One of these options, and shall I say the best, is affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing provides first time online marketers like you the chance to market something online even without having your own product to sell. All you have to do is to sign up with an affiliate marketing program, which is usually owned by an online merchant or retailer, and start picking the products you want to promote. As an affiliate, you are paid by the merchant for your services on a commission basis, that is whenever you have directed a visitor to the merchant’s site and the visitor actually buys something.

Becoming an affiliate in an affiliate marketing program is often quick and easy, and for most affiliate programs, signing up is also free. But despite these and all the benefits being promised by affiliate programs, many people are still hesitant to get into affiliate marketing. One of the reasons why a lot of people remain hesitant is the lack of a website to start marketing his affiliate products with. This now leads us to the question of whether a website is required or necessary in affiliate marketing or not.

Many people say that one can do affiliate marketing even without a website to start with. Actually, one can really start promoting and marketing his affiliate products even without a website; and there exist a lot of ways on how this can be done. In fact, many affiliate marketing strategies that leads to success can exist without actually needing a website. Among these strategies are email marketing, offline promotions, writing e-books, writing ezines and engaging in online discussions like forums, chats, message boards and others.

*Email Marketing

Email marketing, or maintaining email lists, is actually the most popular affiliate marketing strategy that doesn’t require the affiliate to maintain a website. In this affiliate marketing strategy, what you basically do is maintain a list of the email ads of your prospective customers and provide them with articles that are relevant with the affiliate products and programs you are promoting. Articles that you provide your contacts with need not always be promotional, for many individuals find such types of email annoying. Rather, it would be better if you provide them with something informative and just add small text ads that link to your merchant’s site.

*Offline Promotion

There are many ways on how you can promote your affiliate products offline. Among the common medium used for such promotions are classified ads, brochures and flyers. Classified ads would generally work better compared to the other two because classified ads in periodicals often get a wider audience.

*Writing Free e-books

If you have a knack in writing, writing an e-book can be the best way for you to promote your affiliate products in the absence of an actual website. Just like in emails and newsletters, your readers would better appreciate your e-book if it is not too promotional but rather informative. Be sure, however, to make the contents of your e-books relative to the actual affiliate products you are promoting. And just like in email marketing, you can just place text ads or banners somewhere near the end of your e-book that links to the merchant’s site.

*Writing Free Ezines

Ezines are publications or articles that aim to inform individuals about a particular topic. If you don’t have a website and yet want to be an affiliate, you can well use ezines to promote your affiliate products or to insert links to your merchant’s site. If you have a website, your ezine article may actually work well as content for your site. But since you have no website, you can just submit your free ezine articles to various websites that hosts ezines, like goarticles.com, ezinearticles.com and others.

*Online discussions (Forums, Chats, Message Boards, etc.)

With or without a website, you just can’t ignore online discussions because they are great venues for marketing your affiliate products. In chats, forums, message boards and discussion boards with topics related to your products, you can easily find people who may be interested with the products you are promoting.

With all these strategies, it may appear that one really doesn’t need to have a website to start marketing his affiliate products and promoting his affiliate programs. Well, starting in an affiliate program without a website may be easy, but getting successful in affiliate marketing without a website is another thing. While one can actually gain enormous success in affiliate marketing even without a website, it is a rare instance that “newbies” like you can reach the same levels of success.

Having a website is not really a pre-requisite in entering into an affiliate program, unless otherwise the program owner would require you to have one. But while this is so, I would still recommend that you have for yourself a website, if not now, then maybe at a later time. Having a website creates a lot of advantages in affiliate marketing. For one, it provides you a place where you can creatively promote not only one of your affiliate products but all of your affiliate products. With a website, you can also advertise your affiliate products to a wider market.

Again, having a website is not a requirement in affiliate marketing. But with the advantages that a website can provide, I’d rather have one for myself and make affiliate marketing a lot easier for me.

[Review]

Book Box Company is a wholesale source that specializes in “book box” products. This is one of the more unique wholesale companies I’ve come across; it appears to be a small, family-run business located in Canada. Basically, book boxes are gifts that look like real books and are manufactured from real books — but they’re not real books. They’re actually clever little storage boxes used to stow away items (jewelry, toys, pens, that coveted remote control, etc.).

The website provides sparse information in terms of price and payment. The explanation for this, quoted directly from the site, is: “The information on this web site is intended for wholesale customers who are bona fide re-sellers of gift items.” However, if retailers want to request a price list, they can e-mail the site owner, but they must include certain information (listed on the website) about their company and themselves, in order to prove that they are “bona fide” wholesale merchants.

Anyway, about the actual items. Book Box Company has a variety of different box types, under the categories of “Premium,” “Antique,” “Regular,” and “Custom Made.” Premium types can be ordered by book title. Antique boxes are manufactured from aged and vintage-looking books. Regular books are modern hard covers that look just like any of the books you might find at your local bookstore. Finally, Custom Made books are manufactured according to the requests of the customer; almost any book title can be requested, except for those barred by copyright law. The book boxes also come in a range of sizes: small, medium, large, large stack, extra large, and extra large stack. More detailed descriptions can be found on the site.

Although the provider offers little information on payment and pricing, Book Box Company may be a wholesale provider to look into. If you are interested in stocking some unconventional products, rather than the usual clothing line or batch of jewelry, then this may be a good opportunity for you. Just be sure to request the prices by e-mail, including the necessary information about your store or company, and keep an eye on the shipping costs of the book cases.

Seraphim Proudleduck contest - Free Guidelines

Seraphim Proudleduck. What does it mean? Well, its a made up, nonsense term that a great many blog authors, like myself are competing for, all trying to become ranked number one in Google for.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is something that all blog owners, either secretly or openely do, in an effort to get their blog ranked higher then their competitors

So, what exactly does SEO have to do with accounting? Well, not a great deal on the face of it, but even still I have to enter my blog into this new Seraphim Proudleduck II contest to see just how my blog does rank against others. There can be no sterner test, I believe.

When you create a blog, you want it to be found in the search engines, and in submitting my blog to an SEO contest I get to find out just how well my blog is ranked compared to other blog owners, in a way that won’t hurt anyone else’s rankings for a serious search term.

I believe a blog will win this contest, and not any other kind of webpage, by the very nature that blogs are already very optimised for search engines. I would love to receive the kind of notoriety the contest promoter suggests the winner will receive.

If you have a blog, you could do worse then stick some adverts on the page, join this contest and watch the amount of visitors to your site increase day after day, as the contest gathers pace. The competition ends on March 2010 so there is a long time to go yet.

What are the aims of this SEO contest? quite simply I believe that the owner, Shaun O’Connor of the Salmonbones website has a desire to make amends for the previous contest of 2004 going severely wrong. The previous Seraphim Proudleduck contest had 4 prizes which were to be fronted by a company in Michigan. When this company pulled out, their were no prizes on offer. This time, no prizes are on offer from the start, but you are lured in by the rather vague prospect of “notoriety” - read the apology and you will see a promise of offline promotion for the contest. Radio, Newspaper, TV. I am intrigued to know how this will be achieved, as no other SEO contest has ever managed this.

So here is my own seraphim proudleduck entry.

If you would like to help me, please link to this website with the anchor test of “Seraphim proudleduck”

Why not join the Seraphim Proudleduck contest yourself? If you do, then get in touch with me and I’ll exchange links.

The previous winner was Philipp Lenssen who is not entering this 2nd incarnation of the contest, and here is how he got others to link to his blog

Do you have a friend who might want to link to this blog using the words “Seraphim Proudleduck”? You will get a single extra ticket* per friend who emails me telling me you referred him to this contest. (Your friend needs to include your name and email.)

As stated before, in the lottery on January 1st, 2005, I will award the full prize money of $1792 to a random webmaster who linked to me and informed me via email. (Of course the money will only be awarded if this blog wins the challenge.) Every single ticket increases the chance to win, and naturally, I will not hand out any tickets to myself.

Looking for a Virtual Assistant Online? - Helpful Recommendations

Are you a ‘bogged down’ executive or ‘overworked’ small business owner? Do you wish that you could delegate administrative tasks and concentrate on growing your business? Are you looking for a way to find more time without having to hire a regular employee?

If your answer to any of these questions is yes, your business could benefit greatly from hiring a virtual assistant online… An effective virtual assistant online will save you money and time, AND will give you the ability to push your business model to the next level. There are several benefits to hiring a virtual assistant online…. Utilizing a VA is much more cost effective and less demanding than hiring a traditional employee – a virtual assistant does not require benefits or vacation pay, and you do not need to worry about sick days or ‘coddling’ a virtual assistant.

More benefits to using a VA include:

- Most virtual assistants are available outside of regular business hours… do you have tasks that can be completed after business hours? Get a virtual assistant online assistant and have tasks completed for you when you wake up in the morning….

- VA’a are inexpensive and as mentioned above, cost less to maintain than a traditional employee!

- Save time and re-allocate your resources so you can make more money! Let’s say you make $150 an hour….. Do you find yourself giving up hours that could be billed out to do administrative tasks?

If you hire a VA to handle some administrative work for you for $50 an hour, you can actually make more than $150 an hour. For example, let’s say 4 out of every 10 hours you charge out are for administrative tasks that could be outsourced to a VA. You are currently charging 10 hrs x $150 = $1500. If you outsourced 4 hours to a VA (4 X $50 = $200). You have now gained back 4 hours to charge out at $150 (4 X $150 = $600). So you now have the potential to make $1900 for your 10 hours rather than only $1500.

An effective virtual assistant online will get the job done quickly, inexpensively, and intelligently. The flexibility that a VA can create for you is invaluable. A VA can be hired for as little as 2 hours, or as many as the job takes…. You can hire a VA for longer projects, or just once for a smaller task. If you think you need a new employee for administrative tasks, you need to contact a virtual assistant online.

My Right Hand Virtual Assistant provides top quality virtual online services that are cost-effective, flexible, and useful. A virtual assistant online can save you time and money! Contact Stacey Taylor at My Right Hand Virtual Assistant Online for more details!

eBay Auction Buyer’s Tips and Tricks. - Free Helpful Tips

eBay isn’t just an auction and a marketplace: often it can feel quite a lot like a game. Like any game, you can get ahead if you think strategically, using your head to outwit the other buyers and get the best price. Here are a few things you can try.

Shop in the Summer.

This is simple, but effective. Summer is the quiet season on eBay - almost everything sells for less. While everyone else is out enjoying the sun, invest a little time to find some real bargains.

Beat Them by a Few Cents.

Outbid people by a few cents instead of a few dollars - if they don’t check back before the auction ends, then you will be the winner. To avoid people using this tactic on you, though, always bid strange, hard-to-guess amounts instead of round numbers.

Play Dirty.

If you know when the auction ends, you can get in there at the very last second and outbid your rivals. The chances are that they won’t have the time to sit in front of the auction waiting for it to end - as a rule, he who stays wins. If someone else does retaliate at the end of the auction, though, try not to get carried away in those last few seconds and end up paying too much!

Take Risks.

This is a strategy for the braver eBay buyer. All of the advice you will see for eBay beginners tells you to buy items that have good pictures, clear descriptions, trustworthy sellers and all the rest. If you’re brave, why not take a risk and do the exact opposite?

Many buyers won’t want that item from the seller with a feedback rating of 5, no picture and a one-line description. If you take a calculated risk and bid anyway, you might be able to make a tiny bid and win by default. There are people on eBay who make their living from winning auctions like these, taking good pictures of the item, writing a good description and then reselling it at a huge profit. Be careful, though: do this for long enough, and you will inevitably lose your money at some point. It’s especially unwise to try it with very high-value items.

Avoid Bidding Wars.

There are few things on eBay that are so rare that you’ll only see them once and never again. There are usually quite a few sellers who have an item. What’s more, they will generally have more than one to sell, even if they haven’t listed them all at once. Always check your seller’s history to see whether they sell your item all the time - and if they do, then wait for the next one instead of bidding to the skies.

Get paid blogging and make money blogging

Now, there may come a time in your eBay life when you realize that you’ve screwed up your bid, and you wish there was an ‘undo’ button. Here’s the good news for you: there is! The next email will be all about withdrawing your eBay bids.

How To Use PPC Ninja in Your Online Marketing

Can Ppc ninja Increase Your Internet Marketing Benefits?

Internet marketing promotion is a lot like weight loss diets; there are so many options available, but most of them seem to be scams. Web site promotion can be amplified with the help of Google adwords, a highly preferred method. This method also known as pay per click advertising can be painlessly integrated by anyone into their online marketing tactic. At the time of advertising online, think about the people who constitute your target audience. Find out the language spoken by your target audience and write your ads in the same language.

Through Pay Per Click you can read a huge audience, look at this Ppc ninja video to get more info:

If you are using English, then don’t advertise to countries that do not have a large English speaking segment of the population. You should also test 2 new ads at the same time. This is called an A/B split test. The click through ratio of both the ads can be ascertained by utilizing this method and thus you can find out which one performed better. The ad that does well should be continued while the one that doesn’t live up to the mark should be done away with. After this an additional ad can be written by you and experimented along with the one that performed well. Go on with this to be the owner of the most forceful ad.

Making way for your keywords in your ads is among the particularly crucial tasks that you can carry out while promoting internet marketing. In order to have a sensible sounding ad you will have to compromise on the number of keywords that it can include, due to the reasonably small size of an online ad. You are doing well if you are able to accommodate 3 to 4 keywords in your ad. It is up to you to ensure that the keywords utilized are identical to those applied in your website narrative. The grounds for its effectiveness is that the search engine results draw attention to the keywords typed by you. Studies have shown that ads with bolded keywords in them will be clicked more often.

While writing your ad, it is imperative for you to spell out what the customer can look forward to. The problem is that this has to be done in very little space. Keep it basic and make use of only some words.

If assisting people in losing weight is what you do, then merely say “get slim”. Place “make additional money”, in case you are supporting people in making wealth. You can see how these simple phrases will not take up that much needed space while still informing people of what you do.

As you will see in Pay Per Click Ninja You have to use attention grabbing words like: New, Proven, Discover, How To and etc. Draw on words in an attempt to produce an effect. Only take care that the words you make use of are actually adequate to your site. Search engines like Google believe such a choice to be spam. At the end of the day, do everything in your power to eliminate stop words from your ad. Words as: it, in, and, a, an, but, if, on, and the rest. You ought to confirm that one and all words in your ad is advantageous in acquiring you a click. With these and other internet marketing promotion tips at your disposal, you are sure to see an increase in the amount of traffic to your site as well as an increasing customer base.
